Technology and Communications in Mexico and in Los Cabos are similar to those in U.S. and Canada.

LADATEL Phone Cards:
LADATEL payphone booths use $30 $50, $100 and $200 peso cards, sold wherever the LADATEL sign is displayed. These card-only payphones are plentiful throughout Los Cabos. Avoid other credit card payphones, they can charge up to $10 U.S. per minute.
Calling from a Private Line:
If you're using a private phone to make a local call, dial only the seven-digit local number, no area code is required.
Dialing U.S. Toll Free Numbers:
Yes, you can dial U.S. toll free numbers from Los Cabos, but you will be charged for the call. For 1-800 prefixes dial: 001-880 and the number. An English voice recording will advise you that you will be charged, allowing you time to hang up should you change your mind.

Cellular Phones:
To dial a local cellular phone, use 044-624 + the seven digit cellular number.

Using Your Cellular Phone in Los Cabos:
Check with your local service provider for international cellular access while you will be in Los Cabos. Some cell phones are programmable, most are not. If you require a cellular phone while you’re in the area, ask your concierge to arrange a rental for you.


If you want to stay in touch while you’re in Los Cabos, there are numerous Internet cafes around Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo where you may check your email. Rates vary, but free access is available for patrons at numerous restaurants.
