Cabo Pulmo National Park

Cabo Pulmo is a ninety minute espectacular drive from Cabo San Lucas. Primitive white sandy beaches with beautiful azure placid clean clear water is everything that San Jose and Cabo San Lucas are not; undeveloped, quiet, isolated and all of the good things that go along with being in the middle of nowhere. If you up for an adventure and want to experience the area as it was years ago then you should check it out. There's great fishing, hiking, snorkeling, diving and surfing. And the birding is wonderful too. There are a few good restaurants in town as well as dive shops. Life is slow in Cabo Pulmo and extremely relaxing. Most things are run on solar power. It's certainly not for everyone but if you're looking to get away from it all then it might be the place for you!

The Diving in Cabo Pulmo is a must! , a five to ten minute boat ride places you smack dab over one of the most beautiful pristine coral reefs in the world and the only one in the Sea of Cortez. Peering into the water from the boat you know this will be a fabulous dive! . At a slow and comfortable pace you will zig zag across the reef with "huge" schools of stingrays and tropical fish swimming above, below, and all around. The aerial acrobats performed by the stingrays are quite impressive, seemingly choreographed specifically for your pleasure.

Please remember to live behind only your footprints not your rubish and to take only photos and video, not corals or shells. If you go to Cabo Pulmo besure to stop by Villa Los Frailes.

Snorkeling and SCUBA diving are fantastic at Cabo Pulmo, a live coral finger reef system and National Marine Park, further up the East Cape. Daytrips usually combine snorkeling, diving and kayaking. Cabo Pulmo has excellent dive sites offshore, including a tuna boat wreck, for all levels of divers. Snorkelers will be amazed at the variety of fish and marine life inshore. A word of caution: coral is very sharp and walking on the reef can kill it.
