Los Cabos - Where the Desert Meets the Sea

Many first time visitors to Los Cabos have heard about our landmark stone arch, legendary fishing and all-day happy hours. But there s more, Los Cabos has two main centers, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, connected by a 20-mile oceanfront Tourist Corridor of exclusive resorts, championship golf courses, magnificent beaches and stunning scenery.

On the East Cape, northeast of San Jose del Cabo, the Sea of Cortez s pristine and deserted beaches are perfect for swimming, watersports, exploring, and sportfishing. And northwest of Cabo San Lucas, the wild Pacific Ocean coast frames vistas of cardon cactus, lofty mountain peaks, and rolling desert.

The Origins

Conqueror Of The Aztecs, Hernan Cortez, Sailed Along The Eastern Side Of Baja California, In Search Of A Safe Harbor For The Manila-Europe Trade Route. His Sailors Had Heard Tales Of Amazon Women Who Inhabited This Legendary Land, Rich With Pearls And Gold, And Holding Power Over Their Men.

They Instead Found The Pericues Inhabiting The Peninsula, Who Were Believed To Be Descendants Of The Polynesians, The Pericues Inhabited The Peninsula. Those Who Arrived To This Region Were Who Landed There By Their Nudity And Polygamous Ways.

In The 1600’s, Spanish Conquistadors On The Mainland Sent Jesuit Missionaries To When Trade Between Manila And Europe Resulted In The Passing Of Spanish Galleons Carrying Spices, Silks, And Pearls To Be Traded For Mexican Silver From The Phillipines To Acapulco.

Along The Manilla-Europe Trade Route, A Safe Harbor Was Needed , These Sailing Ships Would Rest At San Jose For Rest, Provisions, And Fresh Water From The Estuary That Still Exists Today As The Main Water Source For The Region.
