Safety First
Like back home, keep your car doors locked when parked and remove all valuables. And, please DO NOT carry important documents or wear valuable jewelry while on the beach. While Los Cabos is definitely safer than most U.S. and Canadian cities, why tempt fate? You´ll have a wonderful, carefree vacation by taking the usual precautionary measures. The 24-hour emergency telephone number in Los Cabos is 066, not 911 like back home.

Water
Los Cabos´ water supply is piped from aquifers in the Sierra de La Laguna range. All major hotels and restaurants have purified water. When in doubt ask for bottled water.

Legal Drinking Age
The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old. Drinking alcohol in public is tolerated to an extent, still it is illegal to drink alcoholic beverages on the street, in vehicles, at the beach and other public places. It is an offense to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
